Catherine Crenshaw Berry, also affectionately known as “Nanny”, passed away September 10, 2014, at the age of 100. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, spending time outdoors and canning vegetables. She owned Berry’s Boat Dock, and for more than 72 years, people came expecting to see her sitting on the front porch swing! She never met a stranger. Nanny loved animals, but more than anything, she loved her family and cherished her time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Franklin Berry; sons, Ronald Franklin Berry, Ralph Glenn Berry; parents, Ralph John and Corrine (Ivey) Crenshaw; sisters, Evelyn Marie Crenshaw, Melba Louise Crenshaw; and an infant brother.

Survivors include her son, Bobby Berry of Covington; grandchildren, Darren Berry, Robby Berry, Tony Berry, Michael Berry, Lisha Smith, Brandy Berry Anglin, Jonathan Berry, Laura Berry; great-grandchildren, Levi Berry, Brianna Berry, Maggie Berry, Katelynn Anglin, Cameron Anglin, Saylor Berry, Nolan Berry, Austin Mitchell; daughters-in-law, Maryann Berry, Glenda Lewis; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Berry will be held Monday, September 15, 2014, 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with Pastor Darrell Payne officiating, and interment following in Berry’s Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, September 14, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM.
