Robert Harrison Cantrell, Sr., “Harry,” 81, of Covington, passed away May 28, 2014. TSgt. Cantrell proudly served his country during both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Following his retirement from the U.S. Air Force, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service before retiring in 1993. As a young man, Harry enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and playing softball. In addition, he enjoyed playing golf and watching cartoons with his family. Harry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother who cherished his family and will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert H. Cantrell, Jr., “Bob.”

Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Shirley Cantrell; daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Frank Pfirman of Monticello, Barbara and Frank Rogers of Covington; son and daughters-in-law, Greg and Stacy Cantrell, Ragen Cantrell, all of Covington; grandchildren, Loquita Buckhault, Chris Marable, Sara Rogers, Marc Rogers, Christian Cantrell, Cason Cantrell, Tamara Utes-Fouser, Tori Andrews; 11 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Rosemary and George Hawk of Covington; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Harry will be held Saturday, May 31, 2014, 11 a.m., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, in Covington, with Pastor Mike Wadley officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, May 30, from 6 - 8 p.m..
