Mr. Jessie Lee Sims was born on October 12, 1925 in Newton County to the late Mr. & Mrs. Major (Fannie Mae) Sims.
He attended school in Rockdale County. He was employed by Snapping Shoals in Covington where he retired after 15 years. After retiring, he loved working on the farm and spending time with his family.

At an early age he joined Sims Chapel Baptist Church where he remained a member.

He was preceded in death by his three sons, Mr. J.D. Sims, Mr. Emory Simmons and Mr. Eugene Simmons and his brother, Mr. Major Sims, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Mrs. Geneva Nell Sims, four sons, Mr. George Robert Sims, Mr. Jessie Lewis Sims, Mr. Casey James Simmons and Mr. John Kennedy Hill, one daughter, Ms. Patricia Ann Simmons, two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Vera Bush and Mrs. Ella Mae English, along with a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jessie Sims was interred at Sims Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery 1 p.m. on Saturday. Pastor Cecil J. Rozier was the eulogist, Jessie Sims’ nephews and friends were his pallbearers and his nieces and friends were floral attendants.
