MOORE Mr. Fletcher Moore, 97, of Covington died October 8, 2009.  He was born to the late W.C. and Willie Grant Moore on October 2, 1912 in Jasper County.  Mr. Moore was a lifelong resident of the Newton County area and is the only living member of the Carmel Baptist Church.  He operated the Thrift Oil Company Station in Mansfield for many years and drove a school bus in the Mansfield area for 50 years starting when he was 16 years old.   Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his wife Mrs. Jewel Nunn Moore and is survived by his Sons; Gordon Moore of Lawrenceville, Ronnie Moore of Douglasville, W.C. Moore of Covington and Daughters; Jane King and Jean Hooten both of Covington.  He is also survived by eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.   Graveside services for Mr. Moore will be held at 3:30PM Sunday, October 11, 2009 at Carmel Church Cemetery with Mr. W.C. Moore officiating.  The family will receive friends from 2:00PM until 3:00PM on Sunday at Harwell-Wheeler Funeral Home prior to the service.  Friends may sign the online register book at www.wheelerfuneralhome.com.
