Obituary
     Mr. Eddie Maurice Gotel was born August 3, 1928 in Jasper County to the late Mr. Jessie James Gotel and Mrs. Ludie P. Stone. He was the oldest of eleven children.

     He was raised and educated in Jasper County. Eddie understood the meaning of working hard to provide for his loved ones and the importance of family. On October 3, 1948 he married the love of his life Ms. Clara Sue Epps, this union was blessed with three sons and two daughters. She preceded him in death in 1995.

     Eddie started his career in the Lumber Industry at an early age and continued to work at different jobs that included Frank G. Lake Lumber Company, Bibb Manufacturing Company and finishing his career and retiring from Williams Brothers Lumber Company in 1994. Eddie continued to do the things he loved doing, such as watching the Atlanta Braves games, gardening and spending time with his family.

      Eddie departed this earthly life on January 21, 2015. He was preceded in death by one son, Mr. Jessie L. Gotel, two brothers, Martin Jr. and Marshall, four sisters, Annie Ruth, Jessie Mae, Susie Jane and Eula Kate.

      He leaves to cherish his memories four children, Mr. & Mrs. Hugh (Evelyn) Gotel, Mr. & Mrs. Grady (Elaine) Jackson, Mr. & Mrs. Kenneth (Diane) Jacobs and Mr. & Mrs. Wallace (Brenda) Gotel, four sisters, Mrs. Willie Mae Driskell, Mrs. Ollie Pickett, Mrs. Elizabeth Falconer and Mrs. Cassie Black, one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Regina Gotel, fourteen grandchildren, twenty five great-grandchildren, seventeen great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
