Obituary        

         Mr. Clifford Edward Sims was born April 13, 1931 in Newton County to the late Mr. Early (Byrd) Sims and the late Mrs. Etta (Camp) Sims. He grew up and lived in the Springhill Community most of his life. He attended school in Newton County and accepted Christ and joined Good Hope Baptist Church early in life and later joined Springhill United Methodist Church.

        He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, from nineteen fifty three to nineteen fifty eight. His assignments were 630th Engr. Lt Equip Co. where he earned the following medals, National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal, he received an Honorable discharge for his service. He was employed at the Southern Spring Bed Company from 1959 until 1965. He was employed at General Motors Cooperation from 1965 to 1992 where he retired. He was very dedicated to his employers, he did not like to miss a day at work. He was a good provider for his family.

      He was preceded in death by one brother, Mr. Willie C. Sims.

     He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Mary Ellen (Roberts) Sims, children, Leroy Anthony Sims (Ramona), Angela Ivy Allen (Jon), Janice Melinda Parker (Eddie) and Pamela Renee' Leonard, grandchildren, Jasmine Renee'  Parker, Nicholas Edwin Parker, Angel Jonee' Allen, Halle Marie Allen, Anthony Lee Sims and LaDerro Dewayne Leonard, siblings, Dora Lucille Vason, Early Sims, Margie Sims and Gladys Sims, all of Covington, Georgia, one aunt, Amy (Camp) Russell, a special family friend, Joann (Bastian) Pelt.  A host of other relatives and friends.
