Mr. Calvin Jerome Curry was born March 6, 1956 to the late Mr. & Mrs. Luther (Annie Lucy) Curry in Newton County, where he attended Newton County Schools System.

He was affectionately known as "Mantan" or "Santana". He was a loving, kind, and very blunt person. He loved and cherished his son and family dearly. He loved playing checkers at the corner store. If anyone needed to find him, you could surely find him at the store. The store was his second home. He was simply a joy to be around.

On Monday, June 27, 2016 he departed this earthly life. "God saw you were tired and weak, so God gave you rest".

He leaves to cherish his memories; one son, Mr. & Mrs. Alex (Sonya) Thrasher, four grandchildren, Avin Usher, Shamari Thrasher, Zoey Thrasher and Zharia Thrasher, siblings, Mrs. Barbara Ann Seats, Ms. Mary Louis Curry, Mr. & Mrs. Robert (Willie Pearl) Dobbs, Ms. Carrie Bell Curry and Ms. Annie Bell Curry, a brother-in-law, Mr. Bruce Reid, a special friend, Ms. Rosetta Horton all of Covington, Georgia and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
