Mr. Billy Davis, age 83, a lifelong resident of Covington passed away Friday, April 6, 2012 at Newton Medical Center. He was born February 5, 1929 in Covington, GA to the late Harry Quigg, Sr and Agnes Lynn McClure Davis. Mr. Davis served his country proudly in the Untied States Army, serving during the Korean War. He was retired from the City of Covington, retiring as the Deputy Public Works Director after a career spanning 37 years. Mr. Davis enjoyed playing golf, fishing and throwing darts. He was preceded in death by his wife Sara Head Davis.
Mr. Davis is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Lynn and Thomas Hicks of Covington, his brother and sister-in-law, Harry Jr and Eloise Davis of Covington and his sister Quigg Piper of Covington along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family and close friends.
Graveside services for Mr. Davis will be held at 11 O'clock Monday, April 9, 2012 at Covington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home from 4pm until 6pm on Saturday, April 7, 2012. J.C.
