Mr. Mike Watts, age 46, of Monticello passed away September 1, 2011. He was born March 11, 1965 to Tony and Vicki Adams Watts who survive him in Atlanta, Georgia. Mike grew up in the Atlanta area and moved to Jackson, GA where he was a 1983 graduate of Jackson High School and he was member of Red Oak United Methodist Church. He served as an EMT and Paramedic in Dekalb and Newton Counties and was a Team Leader and Certified Emergency Medical Dispatcher for the Covington-Newton County Communications Center. Currently, Mike had become the Coordinator for a newly formed state agency, Georgia Trauma Commission.
Mike is survived by his parents Tony and Vicki Watts of Flovilla, his children; Candice and Justin Dean of Loganville, Michael Barrett of LaGrange, Chris Watts and Steven Watts both of Loganville, 2 grandchildren, Jaynee Barrett and Harlie Smith, his sister Becky Bryant of Griffin and other family and close friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Watts will be held at 2 O’clock, Sunday, September 4, 2011 at Eastridge Community Church with Reverend Brad Rutledge officiating. Interment will follow at New Covington Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Harwell Funeral Home from 3:00pm until 7:00pm Saturday, September 3, 2011.
