Mary Ruth Allgood Wilson of Cumming passed away May 5, 2016, at the age 96. Mrs. Wilson was a life-long resident of Newton County, and a member of Allen Memorial United Methodist Church, Oxford. A wonderful cook she always had a meal prepared for her husband, Fred Allgood, and was well known for her cake baking. Her favorite pastime was going to Turner Lake Senior Center to paint and finish ceramics. In addition, she also enjoyed crocheting afghan’s in her spare time.

Preceding her in death was her first husband of 47 years, Fred F. Allgood, and second husband, Woodrow Wilson, Senior; parents, William “Buster” and Jenny Cowan Williams; two sisters and six brothers.

Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Wilson will be held Saturday, May 7, 2016, 1 p.m., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road in Covington. The Rev. Joshua Roberts will officiate and interment will follow in Oxford Historical Cemetery. Flowers are accepted, or contributions made be made in her memory to Allen Memorial United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 117, Oxford, GA 30054.
