Mrs. Mary Helen Hendon Crane, age 84 of Covington, GA formerly of Rockmart passed away Monday, Dec. 25, 2017.
Mrs. Crane was born Oct. 16, 1933 in Rockmart, daughter of the late Barney Hendon and the late Ruby Gladys Freeman Hendon. She attended Rockmart High School and was a member of the Solid Rock Baptist Church of Covington. Mrs. Crane retired from West Lumber Company as a sales representative. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, square dancing and gardening, but most of all loved her family.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Jo Carroll; son, Clarence Steven Carroll; two sisters, Ruby Clyde Wright and Evelyn Hendon Hardin; and four brothers, Henry Freeman Hendon, Jack Huckabee Hendon, Austin Hendon and James Hardin.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki and Todd Mitchell, of Covington, Shannon and Greg Smith, of Hoschton, and Stephanie and Terry George, of Atlanta; two sisters, Jessie Ellen Casey, of Cartersville, and Jane Smith, of Smyrna; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services were held Friday, Dec. 29, 2017 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Freeman Harris Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Davis officiating. A eulogy was given by Mr. Joshua Crane-Whittington. Interment followed in the Bethlehem Cemetery.
