Mrs. Margaret Stowe, 85, of Oxford, passed away Feb. 2, at Abbey Hospice. She was born in Hogansville in 1927, the daughter of Warner and Ophelia Godfrey Rowe.
Mrs. Stowe was an avid reader; she enjoyed cooking and was a former member of the Newton General Hospital Auxiliary. She retired from Belk’s Department Store and also worked for a number of years at Harper’s in Covington.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Mrs. Stowe is survived by her son and daughter-in-law John and Tracy Stowe of Covington; daughter and son-in-law Leslie and Joe Parker of Covington; sister and brother-in-law Gina and H.C. Brock of Hogansville; close friend Ed Brooks of Pine Mountain; grandchildren Libby Nelms and Chris Parker; and great grandchildren Josie Robinson, Chasiday Parker, Jesse Nelms, Cameron Smith and Camiyah Smith along with numerous other family and close friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Stowe were held yesterday, Feb. 5, at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Royesse Stowe officiating. Interment followed at Bethel Church Cemetery in Luthersville.
