Mr. Lloyd Madison Lyda Jr., “Butch,” 68, of Oxford, passed away May 19.

He loved spending time outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing, camping, rock hunting and collecting coins. He was loved, and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Mr. Lyda was preceded in death by his son Lloyd “Bo” Lyda and his parents Lloyd and Lois (O’Kelley) Lyda.

Survivors include his wife of 29 years Amanda (Irwin) Lyda; sons and daughter-in-law Robbie and Delice Lyda of Webster, Fla., Jimmy Lyda of Covington; grandchildren Corey and Erin Lyda, Tyler, Michael, and Myka Lyda; sister Evelyn Trimble of Macon; and his niece, nephew and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 25, at Covington First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jan McCoy and Pastor Tim Walden officiating, and interment following in Covington City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Caldwell and Cowan Funeral Home, 3134 Floyd Street, from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 24.
