Lillian C. Long, 87, of Oxford passed away Aug. 22 at Newton Medical Center. Mrs. Long was a member of Oxford Lions Club, enjoyed going to Chick-fil-A, meeting people and traveling. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Claud Long; parents James Boykin and Edna (Dasher) Cullars; sisters Marie Salter, Sara Dial, Doris Green; and brother Dewitt Cullars.
Mrs. Long is survived by daughter and son-in-law Cheryl and Michael Rutledge of Covington; grandchildren Tracy and Tommy Rape of Oxford, Jackie Rutledge of Porterdale, Leslie and Tommy Thomas of McDonough, and Brett and Valerie Rutledge of Monroe; seven great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Long will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with interment following in Covington Mill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24.
