Mr. Lamar Jackson Abbott, Sr. of McDonough, GA died Wednesday May 19, 2010 at Riverside Healthcare in Covington. He was born on December 30, 1922 in Barnesville, Ga to the late Andrew Jackson and Mittie Barksdale Abbott. Mr. Abbott loved farming and his dogs,especially Toby. He retired from J.M. Clayton Company in 1985 and was a member of I.B.E.W. local 613 for over 60 years. Mr. Abbott was preceded in death by his Wife Mrs. Gladys Daniel Abbott. Mr. Abbott Sr. is survived by; Sons and Daughter-in-law Lamar J. and Lee Ann Abbott Jr., Billy Daniel Abbott, Daughter Barbara Owens, Six Grandchildren, Seven Great Grandchildren, Sisters and Brothers-in-law; Lillian & Jimmy Hurt, Lenna Mae & Sammy Mitchell, also several Nieces & Nephews other family and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Abbott will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 21, 2010 at the Chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with Mr. Terry Richardson officiating. Interment will be at Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, May 20, 2010 from 5 to 8 pm.
