Mr. Kenneth McGore died Jan. 31. The son of the late Annie Price McGore and Levi McGore, he was born in 1945 in Newton County. He was preceded in death by sisters Christine, Lenora and Sadie and Brothers Homer Lee, Rufus and Floyd. Kenny, as he was affectionately called, was raised and educated in Newton County. A hard worker, he specialized in road construction and asphalt paving,working for Key Curbing, E R. Snell Paving Company and the Newton County Public Works until his retirement. During his spare time he enjoyed working on cars, fishing and working in the yard. In 1974, Mr. McGore married Annette Benton and became the proud father of three children and stepfather of eight. One stepson, Sammie Stanley, preceded him in death. Very dependable, Mr. McGore was always a man of his word and would do whatever he could to help others. He was devoted to his family, especially his grandchildren.

Surviving are wife, Mrs. Annette McGore; children Letitia (Davis) Durham, Victor (Lisa) Malcom, Timothy Russell, Willie (Willie Pearl) Stanley, Claudia Clark, Rosie (Melvin) Hight, Eddie Stanley, Terry (Shelia) Stanley, Darrell (Delecia) Stanley and Diane Stanley; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters Mrs. Delores Perkins and Mrs. Mary Lackey; a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and dear friends.
