Josephine (Jo) Hyatt, 92, died Jan. 12. The daughter of the late Jeff Hyatt and Julia Sockwell Hyatt, she was born in Newton County in 1916. Miss Hyatt was a member of Mt. Tabor Methodist Church where she was a treasurer and son leader. Her entire life was centered on church. Miss Hyatt retired from Macy's after 35 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Nana Hyatt Cook. She is survived by several distant cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, at Scot Ward's Harry White Chapel, 1299 Milstead Ave., Conyers. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Oxford.
