Mrs. Josephine Canup Savage, 85, of Covington, passed away Feb. 28. She worked for the Oxford shirt plant for 38 years and enjoyed vegetable gardening.

Mrs. Savage dearly loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her second family at Lovejoy United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Savage; parents Virgil and Flossie Canup; several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Lynn and Bruce Tamplin; son and daughter-in-law Phil and Carol Savage; grandchildren Kerre and Jason Streetman, Jason and Della Hyde, April Savage; great-grandchildren Macy, Blake, Caitlin, Austin, Ethan, Braxton; brother-in-law and his wife Leon and Anne Savage; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Savage will be held 2 p.m. today, March 3, at the Chapel of Caldwell and Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, with Rev. Richard Gravitt officiating, and interment following in High Point Baptist Cemetery, in Covington. The family received friends at the funeral home yesterday.
