Joseph M. Jackson, 79, of Covington, passed away November 2, 2016. Jackson attended Eau Claire High School in Columbia, South Carolina, where he was a star athlete for both the football and baseball teams. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Covington. Jackson was preceded in death by his son, Thomas LaGrant Jackson; and parents, Murdock and Annie Ruth (Hollingsworth) Jackson.

Survivors include his wife, Frankie Jackson; daughter, Peggy Ann Adcox and her husband, Lonnie Alan Adcox; daughter, Charlene Jackson Timmie and her husband, James Davis Timmie, III; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service for Jackson will be held Sunday, November 6, 2016 at 2 p.m., at Calvary Baptist Church, 4228 Mill Street, Covington, with Pastor Ron Swann officiating. Following his service, everyone is invited to stay for refreshments and fellowship with Jackson’s family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, or the Alzheimer’s Association Georgia Chapter, 41 Perimeter Center East, Suite 550, Atlanta, GA 30346.
