Joe Hughes of Covington, died Saturday, July 31, 2010 at his residence. He was born on February 7, 1944 in Covington, GA to the late Clarence and Bessie Mae Hughes. Joe was a member and Trustee of the North Covington United Methodist Church, a member of Covington Elks Lodge and loved to fish and garden. Mr. Hughes is preceded in death by his wife: Linda Hughes and daughter: Dede Hughes. He is survived by Daughters and Sons-In-Law: JoAnn and Mel Fuller of Grayson, Tamie and Gary Hegwood of Covington, Rene and Eddie Huckaby of Covington and Rebecca Johnson of Covington. He is also survived by his six grandchildren: Will and Jeffrey Fuller, Dalton and Devyn Hegwood, Cale Huckaby and Camron Dennis. He is also survived by his Brothers and Sisters: Leon and Margaret Hughes of Covington, Ricky and Brenda Hughes of Jonesboro, and Mary Beth and Jeff Amdal of Crete, IL; Sister and Brothers-In-Law: Dianne Adams of Covington, Tommy Griffin of Covington, Jimmy Griffin of Tennessee; Mother-In-Law: Luneal Jenkins of Covington; former wife: Joyce McClure of Covington. Nieces, nephews, other family and close friends also survive him. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 in the Chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Bell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, August 2, 2010 from 1:00PM until 3:00PM and again from 6:00PM until 8:00PM.
