Joe Burnice Clark of Monticello died Jan. 10 at The Mews in Social Circle. He was born in 1915 in Hardin, Mo., the son of Joseph Gordon and Bertha Minnie Kallenberger Clark. Mr. Clark graduated from the University of Colorado with a master's degree and taught Industrial Arts for 35 years in Florida.

He was a World War II veteran serving in the US Army. He was a devout Christian, had a servant's heart and enjoyed serving others in many different ways for many people throughout his life.

Mr. Clark is survived by daughter and son-in-law Carol Jo and Charles E. Ledford of Monticello; grandchildren David A. Ledford, Robert D. and Traci D. Ledford, Steven F. and Misty E. Ledford; great grandchildren McKenzie Ledford, Collin Joe Ledford, Kristen Ledford, Brianna Jo Ledford. He is preceded in death by wife Evelyn Caroline Jacobson Clark, son David W. Clark and parents Joseph Gordon and Bertha Minnie Kallenberger Clark.

A memorial service will be held by his family in North Carolina at a later date.
