Mr. Jeff Hay, 55, a lifelong resident of Covington passed away Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017. He was born in Covington on April 24, 1962. Jeff was a 1980 graduate of Newton County Comprehensive High School. A strong man of God, Jeff has led many people to the Lord by simply being “Jeff.” He made everyone feel as if they were the most important person in the world while he was with them. He led those to the Lord by his actions as a wonderfully talented husband, father, son, brother, musician and friend. Jeff was a devoted Christian and together with his family were members of Eastridge Community Church. He served as a Worship Leader for the past 17 years at The Church at Covington and at Eastridge Community Church JLC. Jeff is survived by his wife, Melissa Hay; his sons, Trevor and Journey; his parents, Gwen Evans and Larry of Covington and Sam M. Hay III and Roxanne Hay also of Covington along with his brother, Scott Hay and his wife Shawn; his sisters, Gina Hay Bryan and Mark, Cindy Hay Taylor and Tommy and Kristie Hay Farrow and C.J. as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family and close friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28 at Eastridge Community Church with Pastors Gary Thompson and Scott Moore officiating.
