Jeanette S. Attaway, 87, formerly of Warner Robins, passed away May 6. Ms. Attaway had resided at Merryvale Assisted Living in Oxford for the past three years. The daughter of the late Dewey H. and Ethel Price Stephens, she was born in Johnson County in 1922. She was retired from Houston County Board of Education after 32 years in School Food Service. During this time she served as dietitian at Lindsey Elementary and Northside High Schools. While in Warner Robins, she was an active member of the Retired Houston County Food Service Employees, AARP and Senior Citizens. She enjoyed cooking, walking, country and gospel music, Bingo, and in younger years, square dancing. Ms. Attaway was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Attaway was preceded in death by her brother W. A. Stephens of Milledgeville, sister-in-law Marion Stephens of Macon, longtime companion and family friend Lee Locklear of Warner Robins and former husband C. F. Attaway Sr. of Warner Robins.

She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Pat and Jim Bryan of Covington; son and daughter-in-law Charlie and Hellen Attaway of Oxford; granddaughter and husband Paige and Kevin Feagin of Atlanta; grandson and wife Lee and Su Attaway of Cumming; great-grandchildren Barrett and Laurel Feagin; brother J. Howard Stephens of Macon; sister-in-law Vera Stephens of Milledgeville; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 8, in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Eric Byrd will officiate. The family will meet friends from 1:00 p.m. to service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
