Janet Pulliam Gray

Mrs. Janet Pulliam Gray of Columbus succumbed to a lingering illness June 23. A native of Madison County, Mrs. Gray was raised in Newton County and graduated from Newton County High School in 1954.

She attended West Georgia College and completed her studies in Columbus as an educator. She retired from the Muscogee Board of Education after 30 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Henley Morris Pulliam of Covington.

Surviving are her daughter Roxann Gray Danile of Columbus; son Murray Daniel Gray III of Atlanta; grandchildren Davis McGarity (Garit) Daniel; Lauren E. Gray, Murray D. Gray IV; brothers Col. Nathan McGarity Pulliam and his wife Janet; Dr. Morris Michael Pulliam and his wife Elaine; and sister Emmy Lougenia Treadaway of Carrollton.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 28, at Red Oak United Methodist Church, Covington.
