James “Jimmy” V. Brown, 70 of Mansfield passed away peacefully at his home, Wednesday, July 27, 2016. He was born in Madison, Georgia to Winford and Eloise Brown.  Jimmy was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  He was the owner-operator of Brown’s Lawn Care. Jimmy is preceded in death by both parents; his loving wife of 50 years Martha Jean Howard Brown in December of 2015; his daughter Jennifer Brown in 1972; and brother Kenneth Brown.

He was loved by everyone he ever met and loved his family with all he had. Jimmy always had a joke to tell and loved the outdoors. He would live in a tent if he could. Jimmy also loved fishing, grilling, drag racing and NASCAR.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law Angela and Scott Wilbanks of Covington, Denise and Ricky Kittle of Porterdale, Cindy and Brian Reese of Monticello; grandchildren Beth and Joe Roberts, Bryan Epperson, Brandon and Melissa Epperson, Kenny and Tiffany Smith, Courtney Smith, Cameron Spradling, Micah Brown, Mitch and Shannon Wilbanks, Kristen Wilbanks, Greg and Ashley Phillips and Lee Reese; 22 great-grandchildren; sisters Judy Wilson of Covington, Jane Harvard of Buckhead, Carrie Grant of Covington, Holly Dowdy of Covington; and brother Jack Brown of Covington.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with life-long friend and Pastor Howard Bagley officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Porterdale. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, July 29 from 6 to 8 p.m.
