Mr. James R. “Jim” Coody, age 80, of Covington passed away November 1, 2011.  He was born in Jersey, Georgia on January 23, 1931 to the late Newton and Ruth Carroll Coody.  Mr. Coody was a member of Lovejoy United Methodist Church, an avid collector and a member of the VFW having served his country in, both the United States Navy and the Untied States Air Force. 

Mr. Coody is survived by his wife Mrs. Marina Coody, his daughter and son-in-law; Tina Daniel-Reasey and Mark Reasey of Covington along with his grandchildren; Amelia, Will and Zach Daniel and Ava Reasey.  He is also survived by his sister Louise Johnson.  

Funeral services for Mr. Coody will be held at 3 O’clock Thursday, November 3, 2011 at the Lovejoy United Methodist Church with Reverend Richard Gravitt officiating.  Interment will follow at the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6pm until 8pm on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers those desiring may make contributions to Lovejoy United Methodist Church.  J.
