Jalen Messiah Lawrence was born on May 24, 2016, in Conyers to his parents, Jordan Scott and Jamaal Lawrence. Under the leadership of Pastor Eric W. Lee Sr., Senior Pastor of Springfield Baptist Church in Conyers, Jalen was blessed and dedicated back to God when he was six weeks old.
At the age of one, Jalen would stand on the pew and clap his hands when the choir sang and dance his Amen when Pastor Lee delivered his sermons. He loved it when his great grandmother, Evangelist Ollie Scott would sing “Jesus Loves Me” and “Lamb of God”. Jalen had a smile that captured and melted hearts, and his eyes twinkled bright like the stars, when he laughed. His sweet disposition was contagious and infectious, which only made you want to love him more. Jalen’s favorite video was the “ABC” song by Usher & Elmo. His favorite movies were “Cars, Moana, & Boss Baby”. He enjoyed going outside to play with his ball and he loved to dance to his favorite tunes.
On Aug. 21, 2018, God sent his angels to Children Health Care of Atlanta at Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital to bring his son Jalen home.
Jalen was always full of life and joy. He will always be loved and missed by his loving family, which includes his mother, Jordan Scott; father, Jamaal Lawrence; younger brother, Diontae Lawrence; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Demetrius Wyatt (Vickie) , Mr. Duncan Lawrence, Ms. Jackie Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Tyrone Davis (Cheryl ); his great-grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Scott (Evangelist Ollie) and Mr. and Mrs. Mozell Smith (Mary); special aunt, Taylor Scott and a host of loving, dedicated aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends who loved and was loved by Jalen.
