Mrs. Irene Driver, 91, a lifelong resident of the Conyers and Covington area, died Dec. 23. The daughter of the late Labon Festus Gunn and Annie Lee Ada Preston Gunn, she was born in 1917 in Henry County. She was a member of Hopewell Presbyterian Church after having been of the Baptist faith as a child. Mrs. Driver raised nine children and loved them all. She is preceded in death by parents, husband Mr. Hubert Driver and sons Leon, George, Harold and William Driver.

Surviving are daughters Joyce Kersey of Lithonia, Donnie Blake of Conyers, Luanne Wren of Conyers; daughter and son-in-law Martha and Charlie Miller of Monroe; son and daughter-in-law J.D. and Brenda Driver of Conyers; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home with the Rev. Junior Snipes officiating. Interment will follow at Bay Creek Cemetery, Loganville. The family will receive friends today, Dec. 26, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
