Holly Nanette Purdy of Covington died Feb. 20 at St. Joseph[‘s Hospital. Born in Atlanta in 1952, she was the daughter of the late Konrad and Martha Parr Purdy. Miss Purdy was a graduate of the University of Georgia where she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. After graduation she worked for Delta Airlines as a flight attendant and retired after 31 years of service. She was a member of First Methodist Church of Covington, Athens Junior League and the Covington Garden Club.
Surviving are sister Susan Evans of Aberdeen, Miss.; niece Margaret Evans of Covington; nephews Grant Evans and Whit Evans, both of Aberdeen; uncle Charles Parr of Covington; aunt Annette Parr Kinsey of Monroe; numerous cousins and other close family members.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. today, Feb. 22, at First Methodist Church of Covington with the Rev. Tim Graham and the Rev. Jessica Terrell officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 2 p.m. until the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Red Cross, American Heart Association or the charity of your choice. Friends may sign the online register at www.wheelerfuneralhome.com.
