Mrs. Helene Augusta Ussery, 85, of Covington, passed away March 24 at her residence. The daughter of the late Albert Ludwig Bathe and Eva Viktoria Bathe, she was born in 1923 in Germany. She was a member of the Word of Life Tabernacle. She lived in Griffin for 40 years before moving to Covington in October of 2008. She was preceded in death by her husband Wilburn Jerome Ussery.
Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law peter and Linda Ussery of Covington, Ronnie and Pam Ussery of Conway, Ark., Manfred and Brenda Ussery of McDonough; daughters and sons-in-law Barbara and Lynn Summers of Albuquerque, N.M., Shirley and Malcolm Dahlin of Covington; son William Ussery of Nashville, Tenn.; grandchildren Anthony Ussery, Lauren Ussery, Timothy Ussery, Catlyn Ussery, Kim Harris, Carl Dahlin, Kristi Burdette, Chris Ussery, Marilyn King, Billy Ussery; 10 great-grandchildren; countless other family and friends; special friends Sonny and Roma Jean Jones of Griffin.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 28, at 2 p.m. in Warren Haisten memorial Chapel with the Rev. Daniel Gissendaner and the Rev. David Gooden officiating. Interment will follow in Westwood Gardens. Friends may visit the family today, march 27, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
