Hazel Bowen of Covington, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2019, at the age of 90. Mrs. Bowen was a member of Canaan Baptist Church and was known for her great cooking skills.
She will be remembered as a faithful wife and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Bowen was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie James Bowen; daughter, Rhonda Satterfield; parents, Dewy and Ossie Bell Moore “Little Granny”; and brothers, Albert Moore, Thomas Moore.
Survivors include her daughter, Sharon Meeks; son-in-law, Dr. Gary Satterfield; grandchildren, Nichole Crick (Brian), Dr. Thomas Satterfield (Jennifer), Brent Meeks, Travis Satterfield (Katie); great-grandchildren, McKenzie Meeks, Daetyn Meeks, Bo Crick, Danny Satterfield, Samuel Satterfield, Emma Satterfield, Julia Satterfield, Hayden Satterfield, Ashlynne Satterfield; great-great-grandchild, Zy Dennis; brother, Dean Moore; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Mrs. Bowen was held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 13, at Canaan Baptist Church, 5581 Salem Road, in Covington, with Dr. Gary Satterfield, Dr. Thomas Satterfield, Dr. Scott Caudill, Dr. Billy Ingram and Mr. Travis Satterfield officiating. Interment followed in Lawnwood Memorial Park, Covington.
