Gloria Bell DeLong of Rabun Gap, GA, died March 16, 2010, at Riverside Health Care in Covington. She was born on May 26, 1945, in Mineral Wells, TX, to the late Clarence Lee and Mary Hudson Carnes. Mrs. DeLong enjoyed cooking, and was very creative in scrapbooking and writing. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Tiger, GA, and was a writer/editor for Accelerated Christian Education for 17 years.
Mrs. DeLong is survived by her husband Edward Blaine DeLong of Rabun Gap, GA; son Michael DeLong of Argyle, TX, daughter and son-in-law Katrina and Tim Allen of Covington, GA; brothers Ronny Carnes of Denver, CO, Lonny Carnes of Shady Shores, TX, Donny Carnes of Seneca, MO, Clarence Lee Carnes Jr. of Gainesville, TX; grandchildren Nicole Ramirez, Joe Loper, Jessica DeLong, Jason DeLong, Christian DeLong, Timothy Allen Jr., Anjelica DeLong, Taylor Allen, and her great grandchild Bianca Ramirez. She was preceded in death by her daughter Mary Katherine DeLong.
Services will be held at Belmont Baptist Church on Friday March 19, 2010, at 11:00 AM with Rev. Thom Allen officiating. Interment will be in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM.
