Gervaise Dimsdale Eberhardt

Gervaise Dimsdale Eberhardt, 89, of Conyers, passed away June 25. Mrs. Eberhardt worked for 30 years with Bibb Manufacturing Co., Callaway Mills, and Sears Roebuck & Co., but her priority was raising her family of 5 children while maintaining her ministry as pastor's wife and music director. She was a faithful member of Church of The Lord Jesus Christ, in Milstead, for 49 years. She operated a successful rental property business, and helped many homeless and troubled families. Mrs. Eberhardt enjoyed gardening, raising various farm animals, especially chickens, was a remarkable seamstress, a gifted musician, and an accomplished guitar player. She loved her family dearly, and will be greatly missed by all. Mrs. Eberhardt was preceded in death by her husband of 63 ½ years, Pastor Grady Felton Eberhardt; and her parents James Silas and Dora Lauria (Wade) Dimsdale.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Dallas Eberhardt of Loganville; daughters and sons-in-law, Lenette and Hiram Strawn of Carlton, Peggy and Allen Smith of Monroe, Rachel and Glenn Hendley, Rebecca and Danny Crider, all of Carlton; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Eberhardt will be held tomorrow, June 28, at 11 a.m. at Community Worship Center, formerly known as Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, 1695 Hill Street - Milstead Village in Conyers, with Pastor David Payne, Pastor Ed Walden, Pastor Charles Harvey, and Pastor Glenn Purvis officiating. Interment will be held at 3 p.m., in Burt Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery, in Carlton, GA. The family will receive friends at Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, today, June 27, from 6 to 9 p.m.
