George Leo Venable of Covington, passed away January 8, 2010, at the age of 76. A lifelong resident of Newton County, Mr. Venable worked and retired from Mobil Chemical Company, in Covington. He loved to dance, and for years he would go dancing every Friday night. Mr. Venable was a loving husband, and especially loved his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles B. and Lilly Mae Roseberry Venable, Sr.; sisters, Bertha Floyd, Doris Venable, Mamie Venable Neeley; brothers, Sidney L. Venable, Robert H. Venable, Wesley Venable. Survivors include his wife, Judy C. Venable; daughter, Wanda Venable; sons, Steve Venable, Randy Venable, all of Covington; step-children, Tammy Sagen of Covington; Allen (Gail) Clark of Monroe, Roger Sherman (LeAnn) Clark, Jr., of Covington; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Phyliss Venable Giles of Bradenton, FL, Betty Venable McGee of Hartsville, SC; brother, Charles B. Venable, Jr., of Harrison, TN; several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service for Mr. Venable was held Tuesday, January 12, 2010, 10 AM, at Christ Cornerstone Church, 1020 Oak Hill Rd., in Covington.
