Freddie Osborne Freeman, 85, of Covington, passed away Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017 at Abbey Hospice. He was born in Atlanta to the late Howell and Ruby Anderson Freeman.

Freddie’s hobbies included spending time with family and friends and helping people. He was the owner and operator of Freeman’s Hardware Store in Decatur. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Mountain View and Clarkston since 1945 and served as a Shriner 33rd Degree. Freddie was a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church in Stone Mountain where he served as the treasure and a deacon for more than 40 years. He had been attending Zion Baptist Church since his move to Covington. He loved cooking, attending Atlanta Falcons football games, and going to the beach.

Freddie is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Carolyn Fuss Freeman, of Covington, daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki and Russell Foskey, of Covington, Gina and Johnny Carter, of Snellville, Amy and Kevin Reach, of Loganville, son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Nancy Freeman, of Oxford, brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Judy Freeman, of Sugar Hill, sister, Martha Ann Sewell, of Grayson, grandchildren, Grant (Brittany) Carter, Kara (Taft) Hooks, Amanda (Brian) Andrews, Lance Foskey, Adam Foskey, Laurel Freeman, Bryce Freeman, Brooke Reach, Bailey Reach, great-grandchildren, Graham Carter, Brooks Carter, Hollis Carter, Hayden Carter, Southerly Hooks, Copelan Hooks, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services for Mr. Freeman will be held Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Davis, Rev. Reese Sanders, and Rev. Herman Hood officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Hill Memory Gardens in Decatur. The family will receive friends at Wheeler Funeral Home, Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. and at Zion Baptist Church, Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017 from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m.
