Frank L. Harrison, of the Eudora Community, passed away Feb. 23, 2017, at the age of 86. Mr. Harrison was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving 7 years’ active duty, and 16 years in the United States Naval Reserve. On Mr. Harrison’s 68th birthday, he began his walk across the United States, starting on Tybee Island, GA, and ending in Santa Monica, CA - covering 2,431 miles and taking 7 months to complete. Mr. Harrison performed in community theater and loved music. He will be remembered for being a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Mr. Harrison was preceded in death by son, Mark Harrison; mother, Emily Frances Nevell; father, Alfred Frank Harrison.
Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Elizabeth Harrison; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Elaine Harrison of Danville, Rex and Becky Harrison of Covington; grandchildren, Roger Harrison, Robin Hunter, Will Hunter; great-granddaughter, Sophia Hunter; adopted great-grandchildren, Vallie, Georgia, Dixie, Haley; sister, Betty Hopkins of Lawrenceville; several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service for Mr. Harrison will be held Sunday, March 5, 2017, 3 p.m., at Prospect United Methodist Church, 84 Barnes Mountain Road, in Mansfield, with Pastor Charlie Starr and Rev. Melanie Soulen officiating. Friends may visit with his family at the church, one hour prior to the service, from 2 – 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations can be made in Mr. Harrison’s memory to Prospect United Methodist Church Building Fund, 84 Barnes Mountain Road, Mansfield, GA, 30055.
