Mr. Elisha “Junior” Hardy, age 79, of Covington passed away at his residence Wednesday, January 8, 2014. He was born October 8, 1934 in Jasper Georgia to the late Elisha Frances and Lillie Mae Carter Hardy. Mr. Hardy was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed gardening, animals, especially feeding the fish in the pond behind his house, and enjoyed going to flea markets and thrift stores. He owned and operated Hardy’s Citgo in Social Circle for many years. Mr. Hardy was preceded in death by his wife Gloria Kay Hardy and his grandson Andy Harville.
He is survived by his children, Benny and Vickie Hardy of Oxford, Anne Harville of Eatonton, Randall Hardy of Covington, his brother and sister-in-law Jim and Billie Jean Hardy of Conyers and his sister Bernice Biggers of Covington and his special friend Edna Hardy of Monroe, along with 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, other family and close friends also survive him.
Funeral services for Mr. Hardy will be held at 2 o’clock Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Sorrells and Reverend Mike Hardy officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until 2pm prior to the service. J.C.
