Mrs. Elida Tanner, age 80, of Oxford, Georgia passed away September 15, 2014.  She was born August 23, 1934 in Miami, Florida to the late Vernon Franklin and Mary Lee Armstrong.  Mrs. Tanner was retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad and also worked for Emory University and the Newton County Library.  She enjoyed traveling especially out west and to National Parks, she enjoyed gardening, knitting, collecting and she loved frogs. 

Mrs. Tanner was preceded in death by her son David Edward Greenwell and is survived by her children Charles Greenwell of Gainesville, GA, Mary and Robert Malouin of Jacksonville, FL and Robert and Stacy Tanner of Minnesota and her sister and brother-in-law Mary and Jerry Wutzler of Coral Gables, FL along with 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.  No services are scheduled at this time however; a guest book may be signed on-line at www.harwellfuneralhome.com  J.C.
