Dorothy Cochran Webb Kitchens of Covington, passed away March 29, 2011, at Covington Manor, at the age of 94. She was born in 1916, in Good Hope, GA, to the late Walter R. and Daisy Knight Cochran. She worked at the Oxford Shirt Plant for 18 years, and retired from Bard after 11 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, in Covington. She loved family get-togethers, and enjoyed cooking for them. She was an avid reader, loved to play bingo, and enjoyed cooking and traveling. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Phillip L. Webb; second husband, Robert A. Kitchens; and sons, Kenneth Webb and Dan G. Webb, Sr.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Cynthia Webb of Covington; daughter-in-law, Ida P. Webb of Augusta; grandchildren, Rev. Ken and Grit Webb, Rev. Terry and Kaye Jackson, Kelly and Frank Poole, Dan G. Webb, Jr., Chris Webb, Jason and Jennifer Webb; 13 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Eudy of Carrollton; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Kitchens will be held Thursday, March 31, 2011, 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home, 1215 Access Road, with Rev. Ken Webb and Rev. Terry Jackson officiating, and interment following in Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Thursday, from 10-11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the building fund of Calvary Baptist Church, 4228 Mill St., Covington, GA 30014.
