Doris Haggard Hatchell of Covington, GA (Newton County) died August 27, 2011, at the age of 89. She was the daughter of the late Charles W., Sr. and Mozelle Haggard and the widow of the late Carl Bernard Hatchell, Jr. who was a retired U. S. Navy Officer.  Doris was a former resident of Porterdale, GA., Portsmouth, VA., and Jacksonville, FL. She was a member of the Porterdale Baptist Church and also a member of the Order Of the Eastern Starr, Chapter No. 35, in Cocoa, FL.  Doris worked as a Master Cosmetologist for over twenty years, in Covington as well as Portsmouth, and also as a bookkeeper for five years for General Development Utilities in Cocoa.

Doris is survived by her brothers, Charles Walker, Jr. and Sharon Green  Haggard, of Sarasota, FL., Sidney Lamar and Jeanette Nichols Haggard of Covington; sisters, Marion Haggard Hampton, Hazel Haggard Cordell, Gladys Haggard Kerbow, Charlene Haggard Bell all of Covington, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Doris will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2011, 2:00 P.M. at the Access Road Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan Funeral Home in Covington, GA., with Rev. Dickie Johnson officiating and interment following in Covington City Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. and again from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M.
