Mrs. Christine E. Harwell, 90, of Atlanta, formerly of Covington, died Dec. 23. The daughter of the late Walter and Minnie Hodges Ennis, she was born in Baldwin County. She taught school in Newton County for 34 years, finishing at Ficquett Elementary School. Mrs. Harwell was preceded in death by her husband Lucius Lee Harwell.

Surviving are son and daughter-in-law Jim and Paula Harwell of Roswell; daughter and son-in-law Sandra and George Jennings of Kennesaw; brother Ret. Col. Charles W. Ennis of Milledgeville; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26, at Harwell-Wheeler Funeral Home with the Rev. John Donaldson officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnwood Memorial Park.
