Mrs. Brenda P. Sweat, age 74, of Covington, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2015. She was born December 17, 1940 in Covington to Kermit and Jeanette Calvert Pratt who have preceded her in death. Mrs. Sweat worked for the City of Covington for many years and was a retired purchasing agent for DeKalb County. She was a member of County Line Baptist Church and was an avid reader, a seamstress and a gourmet cook.  Mrs. Sweat was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She was preceded in death by her brother Kermit Eugene and Mary Jo Pratt.

Mrs. Sweat is survived by her loving husband, Charlie Sweat of Covington, her daughters and their spouses; Kim and Steve Coady and Karen and Danny Presley, all of Covington and her son and his wife Keith and Lynn Street of Bogart along with her 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her aunts and uncle; Dan and Ruth Aaron and Grace Johnson all of Covington along with many other family members and close friends.

A Memorial Service for Mrs. Sweat will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, February 19, 2015, at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, with Keith Street officiating. A gathering of friends will follow in the fellowship hall.  J.C.
