Mrs. Bobbie Gene Brooks Flournoy was born Aug. 28, 1940 in Jasper County to the parentage of the late James & Mary Lou (Sissy) Brooks.

On Sunday, Sept. 3, 2017 while at Grady Hospital, she went home to be with the Lord at the age of 77.

She was educated in the Jasper County School System.

Bobbie joined Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and later moved her membership to Mt. Gilead Baptist Church where she served faithfully as an Usher & member of the choir until her health failed.

She met and married the love of her life Mr. Miller Washington Flournoy. They shared a blissfully wonderful marriage for 57 years.

Preceding her death along with her parents are three sisters, Julia (Juke) Smith, Lessie Mae Jeffries and Nellie Kate Brooks; three brothers, Willie Lewis Collins, Richard Brooks and John Wesley Brooks

She leaves to cherish her memories a devoted husband, Mr. Miller W. Flournoy; one son, Mr. Alvin (Bernice) Brooks; six grandchildren, three of which they raised as their own, Micheal (Lashondria) Reed, Kiki (Patrick) Height and Patrick Brooks, Tabitha (Patrick) Jackson, Travis (Denise) Jones and Monquie Jones; fifteen great- grandchildren, DeMicheal, Porshee, Diamond, Phillip (P.J.), Jaziyah, Rodneisha (pink), darrion, Mariya, Siasha, Trayves, Daylen, Tahlia, Myriam, Skyla and Makyla; five great-great grandchildren, Zaylee, Cre, Liam, Kobi and Nykeria; one aunt, Mrs. Irene Benton; one amazing care-giver, Mrs. Margret (Mauge) Smith; six sister-in-laws; three brother-in-laws and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

The celebration of life was held Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church, at 574 Glades Road, in Eatonton with Bishop Lewis Parham serving as eulogist and Pastor Marquette D. Brooks presiding.
