Mrs. Barbara Jean (Manning) (Engram) Pitts, 79, was called home Dec. 29. She passed away at her home with her family by her side. She is preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Rhunelle Manning; brother Thomas Lewis Manning; sons Dana Engram and Scott Pitts. She loved flowers, painting, crafts, playing cards and working puzzles.

Surviving are husband Maj. William H. (Bill) Pitts of Conyers; son Thom and Lynn Pitts of Covington; daughter Rosa Crowe and Terri Johnson of Newborn; son Bill and Julie Pitts of Alpharetta; daughter-in-law Vicki Pitts of Oregon; 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two nieces; and her beloved dog Sparky.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 4, in the chapel of Wheeler Funeral Home. Burial will be at Carmel Cemetery, Mansfield. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her memory to Longleaf Hospice, 2712 Lawrenceville Highway, Suite 200, Decatur, GA 30033.
