Spring break camp registration is going on at the Covington Family YMCA for children ages 5-12. The cost is $95 a week per child or $25 a day. The camp will run April 2-6. There is a $35 program membership fee if applicable. Financial assistance is available based on need.

Hours of camp are from 7 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. Camp will include playing in the gym and playground, arts and crafts and participation in character development activities. The Y is providing morning and afternoon snacks, but children do need to bring a sack lunch each day.

"We would love to have as many children as possible to sign up," event coordinator Erin Gorman said. "It's going to be a fun week."

Gorman is also in charge of the after school program at the Y. She recommends families keep their children active during this spring as well.

"It's always a good idea to go on family bike rides," she said. "That way the whole family is together and all of you are working together to get in better shape."
Gorman said another idea to keep kids active is to take them to the park.

"The park is a place where they can do all sorts of things," she continued. "They can not only play, but also read and do homework there as well."
