Covington police responded to a call about an assault at a home located at Jefferson Village Boulevard on Tuesday night. They spoke with a woman who said she stabbed her boyfriend Demetrius Victor with a knife after he hit her in the eye and knocked her down. The woman said she stabbed Victor out of self defense. According to the report, she had blood running down the right side of her face, her right eye was swollen and she had a small cut on the inside part of her nose. She was taken to Newton Medical Center by her friend after being treated by EMS. Police also made contact with Victor who had been taken to Newton Medical Center for his injuries by his mother. Victor was arrested for battery and taken to the Newton County Jail. When police arrived at the jail with Victor, he was bleeding through his pants on the left side of his hip. He was taken back to the hospital for treatment and then taken back to jail.
Man reportedly steals equipment from tattoo shop
An employee with Inked Tattoos on Ga. Highway 36 said a customer stole two bottles of black ink and a stainless steel tip and till from the shop. According to a report from the Newton County Sheriff's Office, a deputy spoke with the employee who said on Tuesday he had a portable tattoo gun kit for sale and a customer who purchased a tattoo asked to see it. While the employee wasn't looking, the man took items out of the kit, placed them in his pockets and left the store. The employee said he checked the kit and found items were missing from the kit. The employee found the guy in the parking lot and recovered some of the items. He said the man then left. The employee went back in the store and realized two bottles of black ink and a stainless steel tip and till were still missing. A video of the customer taking the items was placed into evidence.
Man tells police he was attacked by two women with a rake and knife
Covington police responded to a call at S&S Package Store located on Monticello Street in reference to a fight. A police officer arrived to an area across the street from the store and met with a group of people. A man from the group said Krystal Williams and Constance Williams tried to attack him with a rake and a knife in the parking lot of the package store and he ran across the street. He said the women got into an argument with him and the chased him to S&S Package. One of the women tried to grab him while they other woman tried to hit him with a rake. The man said when he ran across the street, the women got into their vehicles and sped off towards Green Acres. The police officer said he observed a rake in the parking lot and collected it for evidence. The officer then made contact with another police officer who conducted a traffic stop on the two vehicles that ran a stop sign in Green Acres and was interviewing the two women. The other officer said he found a knife in the rear right passenger floorboard of one of the vehicles. Police also confirmed that the rake was the one used in the fight.
