A woman who called authorities on the father of her child was ultimately the one arrested Wednesday evening.
Deputies from the Newton County Sheriff's Office were called to a home on Fieldstone Lane by 28-year-old Pamela Marquita Fletcher who reportedly told 911 operators her baby daddy punched her in the face.
When deputies arrived, they spoke with Fletcher who reportedly told them she has a 5-month-old son with the man who lives at the home - whom she referred to as her boyfriend - and that she recently found out he had gotten married, so she went to the home to confront him. She said when she did confront him, he punched her in the face, causing her nose to bleed.
Fletcher's baby daddy told deputies that she did indeed come to confront him and that she was ringing the doorbell and banging on the front door yelling at him to come outside. When he tried to leave, he said Fletcher, "got in his face and began to push and hit him." While trying to keep her from hitting him in the face ,he pushed her, according to reports and at some point during the altercation she was accidentally hit in the face.
A witness to the altercation confirmed the man's story, saying that Fletcher was yelling and cussing outside the home and attacked the victim when he tried to leave.
Fletcher, who had called deputies in the first place, was arrested and charged with simple battery and criminal trespass.
