The railroad crossing at U.S. Highway 278 near West Street will be paved over beginning Aug. 8. Although the road will remain open to traffic, travelers can expect single lane closures in the area from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. through Aug. 11.

As with all road construction, the Georgia DOT advises motorists to use extra caution in construction work zones. Slow down, stay alert, pay attention to and obey all work zone/advisory signs.
