A complainant claims two people threw cantaloupes at Early Hope Church in Covington, according to the Newton County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO).

Deputies responded to the church, which is located at 1129 Rocky Plains, on Aug. 10. According to reports, the complainant said two unknown people drove to the church and threw a cantaloupe at the church sign but missed. The offenders then, reportedly, when back to their vehicle and threw another.

The complainant said the sign did not break, but he is concerned due to a sudden rash of incidents that have occurred in the last month.
