Update, 10 a.m.: The Georgia Department of Transporation's traffic website says no lanes are blocked as of 9:54 a.m., but the website still shows the area in red, meaning speeds are less than 30 m.p.h.
Original article, 8:39 a.m.: An accident on I-20 west just before the Salem Road exit (exit 84) has backed up traffic until around the Almon Road exit.
A Covington News employee stuck in the traffic said people may want to take the Access Road or an alternate route to avoid the backup.
According to the Georgia Department of Transportation’s website, which was updated at 8:25 a.m., the right two lanes are blocked and the accident is expected to be cleared by 10 a.m.
